The Schaap Center would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has contributed thus far to help make the vision for the Schaap Center become a reality.
Between now and completion we aim to bring you regular updates and construction news. Including images via our live webcam.
The Schaap Center will be less than 1/2 mile from the Jefferson-Chalmers section of the East Jefferson corridor in Detroit.
Location: Alter Road and Jefferson Avenue, Grosse Pointe Park.
This transformational project is composed of three separate parcels at a prominent gateway location to the city, situated at the northeast corner of Alter and East Jefferson. Three city of Detroit parcels are proposed for redevelopment; two currently form a landscaped lawn area and the third, the easternmost parcel of the city along Jefferson, is occupied by the westernmost thirds of buildings that are otherwise in adjacent Grosse Pointe Park.
