Marshall Fredericks Sculpture Museum Exhibit
We are also honored to display a curated exhibit from the Marshall Fredericks Sculpture Museum which will include sketches and sculptures from the permanent collection of “America’s Public Sculptor,” Marshall M. Fredericks.
Fredericks was a figurative, public, and an architectural sculptor. Throughout his career his artwork reflected his personality – his pieces are overwhelmingly positive, whimsical in nature, and often a reflection of his sense of humor and humanistic beliefs.
He received more than 500 major sculptural commissions, including six from the United States Government. His work can be seen in more than 150 public and corporate locations across the United States and throughout the world, including parks and gardens, government embassies and royal palaces, museums, zoos, libraries, and hospitals.
Here at the Schaap Center we have the following pieces on display:
- Study for the Thinker
- Study for the Baby Baboon
- Study for the Siberian Ram
- Study for Sun Worshipper
- Study for Siesta (Reclining Lamb)
- Flying Wild Geese – one of Marshall Fredericks’ most popular sculptures.
The Marshall Fredericks Exhibit is in the community gallery which is open to the public – at no cost – two Saturdays per month.
