Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how the A. Paul & Carol C. Schaap Center for the Performing Arts ("the Schaap Center," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and discloses information through the website located at schaapcenter.org (the "Site"). By using the Site, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.

Information you provide

We collect personal information only when you choose to provide it. When you submit our contact form, we collect the name, email address, and message you enter. This information is used to respond to and process your inquiry.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site, certain information is collected automatically. Our web host maintains standard server logs that may include your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring pages, and the date and time of your visit. We also use Google Analytics 4, implemented through Google Tag Manager, to measure and analyze Site usage, including pages viewed, session duration, and aggregate traffic patterns. Google Analytics collects this information through cookies and processes it subject to Google's privacy policy.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device that enable certain website functions and usage measurement. The analytics services described above place cookies on your device. You may disable or delete cookies through your browser settings, and you may opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of certain features.

Tickets and donations

Ticket purchases and donations are processed by DonorPerfect, a third-party service provider. When you purchase a ticket or make a donation, you are directed to pages hosted by DonorPerfect, where your payment and contact information is collected and processed by DonorPerfect. This information is not collected or stored on the Site. Your use of those pages is governed by DonorPerfect's privacy policy. We retain the patron and donor records resulting from these transactions, including name, contact information, and giving history, for purposes of order fulfillment, donor acknowledgment, and communications regarding the Schaap Center.

Donor recognition

We may publicly acknowledge donors by name, grouped within giving-level ranges rather than by specific amount, on the Site, in printed performance programs, and on signage or displays at the Schaap Center. Donors who wish to remain anonymous may request that their names be withheld by contacting us using the information below.

Embedded content and third-party links

Certain pages incorporate content from third parties, including Google Maps, which is used to display our location and directions. Such embedded services may collect information about your visit and set their own cookies, subject to the respective providers' privacy policies. The Site may also contain links to external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of any website other than the Site.

Disclousure of information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We disclose information only to the service providers that support our operations, including our website host, analytics provider, and DonorPerfect, and only to the extent necessary to provide the services you request. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect our legal rights. Except as described in the Donor Recognition section above, we do not share your information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Children's privacy

The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) provides you the right to request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, to request deletion of that information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell personal information. To submit a request, contact us using the information below. We may require verification of your identity before responding.

Data security

We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
